Gloria and Edward's
The rain that had been forecast thankfully held off and the grey sky cleared to blue and the sun came out.
The celebration started with a church ceremony at the Catholic Church, where Ceci´s grandmother attended regularly. The church soon filled up with family and friends and much kisses and greetings and the bride duly arrived on time with Charlies two little twin neices leading the way down the ilse although it was heard one to comment she wanted to go home. The parents support the bride and groom at the Church service.
The ceremony was very quick and we were soon off to the reception at a resort just south of Santa Rosa.
The bride and groom arrived in a very snazzy red sports car lent by cousin Lucas. First up was the civil ceremony with friends as their attendants. Once the official proceedings were over it was time to party, and party they did.
Started off with Paula and Charlie coming into the oval on a scooter and then the many white balloons given to guests were released.
There is a little lapse in proceedings for me at this stage, as the 5am wakeup that morning caught up with me so found a nice poolside chair to have a little siesta, but things certainly hotted up whilst I was napping and it was like I had woken up at a different party. It was going crazy.
During my nap the bridal dance had been danced and now everyone was at what I can only describe like a jumping castle, but there was a bull on it which the everyone wanted to get on and ride. Some classic acts I might add and I would have given it a go, but I think I would have embarrassed myself just trying to get on the bull, which was an act in itself. Alongside the bull riding was candy floss and popcorn stand.
The wedding cake came out, with cakes, cakes and more cakes. One mans comment was he had never seen anything like this at a wedding. The wedding cake also just being one tier was unusal in Argentina, and for me a first was to see the many ribbons from the cake. These ribbons were taken by the single girls and whoever got the ring will be getting married. Well I found out later that Ceci got the ring.!!! Can we arrange a wedding in two weeks?
The music cranked up and then hats, masks, wigs etc were given out and it got even crazier and this continued on until we left about 9.00pm, but I am sure the party continued on much later.
Thanks to Paula and Charlie for inviting me to you wedding. It was a blast.
