Today is my last day in Monferrato and I will really miss it.  I was hoping to stay at least long enough to see my own breath in the very cold kitchen, but huddling under wool sweaters, blankets and a hot water bottle will have to do until I arrive in the UK.
It has been a quiet few weeks since I finally made my plans to leave.  I've continued to enjoy cooking with Eunice, taking nice walks and enjoying the unseasonably warm, Autumn days. I had a wonderful meal in Castagnole Monferrato where I was able to try many regional treats: angolotti, bagna cauda and a bottle of Rusche.
I have had such a wonderful time; it is hard to say goodbye.  Peter and Eunice were amazing workaway hosts and have become friends. Luigina paid me the nicest compliment ever yesterday morning.  She said the first day that I arrived, when she saw me smile, she felt as if she'd known me before and that I'd always been here....
I really hope to come back in the spring.  But for to Sicily!

Well, I am finally caught up and now I'm behind again. I especially liked the Cinqua Terra piece. When I was there with Richard, we loved it. We stayed ih Monterosso. Also if you get to Tuscany, we like the town villages of Volterra and San Gimignano. Also like Lucca. Somewhere along the journey you mentioned Scotland. See the Tatoo when you get to Edinburgh if you can. It's worth it. a humdred Bagpipe marching around the Castle courtyard. Thanks for the Happy b'day. Off to Hawaii next week to see my girl. Sending Love
