Did enjoy the gorgeous Baha'i gardens, and sampled some amazing Arabic sweets from a bakery recommended by the nice guy who gave me directions. Think it may have been one of the special phyllo/cheese desserts made especially for Ramadan. I enjoyed it so much, I forgot to show you a picture!
Interesting perspectives from the two local men I talked to- one Muslim and one Christian. Echoing what the Jewish man from Jerusalem said- life is hard in Israel if your goal is to make a lot of money. Things are pretty expensive and most local wages aren't high enough.
Emile, who owns the shwarma shop with his brother, works ever day- more than 12-hour days
The other guy told me how depressing it was to live in a country where everyone hates one another and there is constant war. So sad!
You don't see it here everyday. At least, not in Tel Aviv. It seems so peaceful. I did ask someone though, if they felt safe in Jerusalem. He said, "Yes. Now that we have a wall around the city". Hmmm... And there are all if those armed soldiers everywhere.
