Flag of Israel  , Israel,

More lazy afternoons at the beach. I've managed to catch the sunset every night. Beautiful. I must find someone to play matkot with me. It's the unofficial National sport of Israel- hilarious! Surely that sound signifies summertime for Israelis everywhere.
Walking all over the city with my $7 Ukrainian sun umbrella- good purchase! Visiting markets, cafes and galleries, tasting local treats like rosetta- an Armenian almond/rose drink, checking out all the amazing vintage shops around town (Mom says not to worry about packing all the "new" dresses; I should just wear them all at once!) and just enjoying not feeling like a tourist.
Attached my two favorite photos from the "City Show" exhibit at the Center for Contemporary Art. And thanks to the docent for suggesting the video installation at the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion for Contemporary Art- fascinating, even though I couldn't understand the Polish dialogue (or Hebrew subtitles)! A Polish Trilogy by Yael Bartana, "...and Europe Will be Stunned," about an imagined futuristic Jewish settlement in Poland. It's touring, so if it's in your town, check it out.
I even figured out that bus #5 drops me off literally at the front door- awesome. I have to be careful to not use it too much. I need the exercise!

P.S. Happy Birthday Joanne! Looking forward to our pancake celebration in London.
