They seem to ignore all the other girls in the dorm, but the mosquitoes are eating me alive! Thought I'd escape outside and enjoy a beer in the park on my last white night, but I've finally figured out why everyone is dressed like a sailor today- it's a National holiday celebrating the Russian Navy. They just set off a bunch of fireworks (seems kinda odd to do it while there's still so much daylight) and I nearly got trampled trying to walk against traffic...but I made it.

So I left today in its entirety to visit the world's largest museum. I was hoping for rain, and got my wish when I woke up at 5:30am (to join JRiggs and Matt's wedding by Skype- congratulations!!!!) to a huge thunderstorm. Great museum weather. I emerged about 4.5 hours later, hungry and thirsty since I had to leave all my snacks in the cloakroom, but very satisfied. I've copy/pasted from the Hermitage's official iApp when applicable, but otherwise will let the photos speak for themselves. I included some recommended must sees, but really just snapped shots of pieces that caught my eye. Hope you enjoy the virtual tour!

Trekked down to a photo gallery after a little picnic- this was my last day after all, gotta make the most of it. Cool photos from an exhibit entitled, "City as Habitat."

Sat through the 6pm service at Lady of Kazan Cathedral in order to listen to the soothing singing. Since most of my meals have been about $5 and I've been cooking breakfast every morning, I treated myself to a fancy pasta dinner and a glass of bubbly- heavenly.

By the way, the mosquitoes found me outside.
Dosvidanya Russia- I'll miss you!
