Waking up overlooking the Mediterranean, we decide to stay here for another night. Today we want to soak up the atmosphere of Monaco and Nice. A morning drive (again the streets are tight and this
time I manage to clip the side of the motor bike, (I win the 'worst driver in France' competition) luckily for us no damage was done....Soren thought it was hilariously funny). We walk through Monaco, the casino looks different during the day, but the cars are still lined up at the front and the average people (us) are still gasping at the beautiful cars. Can't leave Monaco without soren having the chance to do a lap of the famous Monaco grand prix circuit.
Off to Nice to work on our tans. If you are thinking sandy beach...think again, like most beaches on this side of the world they are lined with pebbles, we get lunch and a cheap umbrella, and spend the day reading, swimming, and people watching...not uncommon to see women bathing topless, thought I would be brave and try it. Watching the sun set over Nice was nice but not as spectacular as the one in Carcassonne. We go hunting for fish and chips and Mussels and Fries (a dish that the French seem to eat alot) not as easy as we thought, Nice is close to Italy and therefore has alot of pizza and pasta, unfortunately we are not in the mood for this so we end up at an Irish pub to get our fish and chips, can seem to find the mussels and fries. After dinner we stumble into the fabulous glacier (ice-cream) shop, mmmm delicious! Back to the hostels and a midnight walk along the coastline, very quiet and peaceful. (And again romantic :-) )
