Us folks in Dunedin are always on the lookout for a wee excuse to drink wine, socalize, and piss off work. In the springtime in the U.S. Kentucky Derby fills the bill...here it is the Melbourne Cup Day...even better as it is not on the weekend. The races are in Australia,but Dunedin empties out to go to the local track with it's own races and the Aussie event telecast.

Candy and her Kiwi mates entered the Fashion show...hats important... all the fashionistas make their own...got to have long feathers...Called "fascinators". Went down a catwalk individually and all that. Jay, the witch with Candy in the Halloween entry placed in the top 10...missed out on a Fiji trip but settled for some brilliant earrings.

I couldn't ditch work...tok early pixand had some sent to me from the race event and picnic. C got lucky,her horse came in and she was up
