Day 6, Today we leave to travel about 6 hours to Salamina, where Diana's mother lives. This is by far my favorite city. It is located high up in the mountains and is filled with the colonial style houses. Diana's mother has prepared a wonderful lunch for us all. Her carrot soup is unforgettably wonderful. We then get a tour of the town and the hospital where Diana's mother works. Then we get to play bingo, in Spanish. I thought I would die with excitement over this! Later we go to a nearby pub to sing, drink rum, and dance.
Day 7, I am somewhat melancholy due to the fact we leave the following morning. I wish we had more time, I am not ready to leave, but tomorrow we have to leave. However, Diana has planned a surprise early birthday party for me to toast us farewell. So as we entered Pereira with just a few hours sleep, we leave Pereira the same. After a long night of laughter, singing, rum, and Salsa dancing we walk away from people who, in just one week, have captured our hearts and gave us so much of themselves to carry home with us.
