OK.....we had a few computer problems in Canada......so I'm trying to catch up now that we are in NYC. We knew the trip to Niagara Falls would be a long one, but we thought if your coming all this way to the east coast, you have to see the falls. We left Vermont at 9am.....ready for the 8+ hour trip to the falls, and we were right about that amount of time with 1 mile to go, and all &^^%^&** broke loose. There was sooooo much traffic to get over the boarder that they closed the road we were on and sent us to follow the crowds to get in line......we didn't know were we were going, and the drivers were crazy as they tried to cut into line. Very long story short....it took us over 3 hours to move 1 mile. As you all know....I'm very patient and flexible and I handled this extremely well. NOT.
Now...after that we did have a whole day to do all the main tourist stops .....including a trip behind the falls, the Niagara experience (a movie in the round that rains and snows on you as you watch it). Up the space needle like tower for photos, a walk along the rapids, and of course the Maid of the Mist boat ride (WOW ....and in the front of the boat)
Now some side notes. If we think there are a lot of Starbucks in our area......there are just as many Dunkin Donuts in every small town, and on every corner. It just cracks us up. Also....we have been very lucky with snow, the day after we left New Hampshire, it snowed. The day after we left Vermont, it snowed. They were calling for snow 2 days after we left Canada.......and the road we took to get to NYC will get 3 inches of snow tonight. I hope our luck doesn't run out.
Now, off to explore NYC......check in later.
