After a 14 hour flight I finally got to South Africa for some much needed R&R. Unfortunately that is not what panned out. Perhaps it was the jet-lag and waking up at 3AM, but it seemed like I was on the go from beginning to end, which made the time fly by. This might also be the reason why I am only writing about SA now when I have already been gone for a week. And also I dont have my SLR photos yet - I will let you know when I post them on this blog entry. Anyway it was great catching up with everybody.

After a couple of days in JoŽburg with my mom and gran, as well as meeting up with a few friends, I went to the Pilansberg & Sun City with my dad. It was great to get to the bush, but with alot of rain, spotting animals was quite difficult. Therefore my dad and I went to Sun City, the original gambling oasis of South Africa. Theres a water park, golf and more there, but the main attraction is gambling. So after I blew R50 (abt $10) on the pokies I left my dad to play Black Jack and look around.

A couple days later I went back to the Pilansberg with my mom and went on a couple of game drives. The bush was thick, but seeing the big animals like rhino, elephant, kudu and giraffe was easy enough, which we did.

After the game reserve I went back to JoŽburg where I tried to help my mom with her work, in between building her new web site and catching up with friends for lunches and dinners.

My mom and I then went to the Kruger National Park for a few days, where we relaxed (I watched alot or rugby)and went on a couple game drives. The highlight was seeing 2 big prides or lions with cubs. I sincerely hope my photos come out (as mentioned I dont have them yet).

Finally it was back to JoŽburg for the last couple days. Mel came and stayed with us and we did a couple touristy things (went to the markets), as well as some not touristy things (delivering to one of my mothers customers in the CBD). As mentioned the time flew by, but I had to leave ( I had already delayed my departure once) and head to Spain..........
