Bewitched in Hogsback
Entry 32 of 46 | show all | print this entry |
We decided to break the long journey from Cintsa to Graaf-Reinet a bit and stayed in Hogsback for one night. Hogsback is a very pretty little village in the mountains and the guidebook was not wrong - it's magic. Basically the place looks like from fairytale and I can just imagine that it looks even more fairytale like when it snows. Apparently it does snow 11 months out of 12 but I find that a bit hard to believe.
There are fairies everywhere in the village - both good and bad ones. The bad ones lead you the wrong way when you go walking in the mountains so you have to be careful.
We stayed at a pretty little lodge called Edge that was on the edge of a mountain with stunning views. Our cottage was very nice and the restaurant at Edge served great food. All in all, a nice little stop on the way to Karoo from the coast.
