so after a typical israeli journey to the airport, i made it to cyprus. let me explain: i left the late night partying early so i could make it to the train station at catch the 3:38am train to the airport. so i found a cab and was dropped off in good time... only to find out that there was no trains b/c of track reparis. i guess someone forgot to tell the israil webmaster of the changes since the schedules said all was a-go. well, with the cab gone, i found another traveller who also was unaware of the change in train functionability, so we split a cab and made our way to ben gurion, at a relatively cheap-ish rate with the third person we picked up along the way. with that out of the way, i was able to catch about 30 minutes of sleep before i boarded my plane, and then crashed (poor use of the word in this context perhaps??) for the entire 45 minutes to larnaka.
once in cyprus i took the quick and pricey taxi journey into the resort town and walked along the beach killing time until the free walking tour of the city, which was just a few blocks and some visits to some pottery huts and artist's place. but i met a fun new friend from... *drum roll* australia, who lunched with me while we split some tavas (very yum) and moussaka.
then it was back in the air for another chance to sleep for an hour and a bit while en route to athens. then i was introduced to the chaos that is athens. more to come...
