holy moley, istanbul is BIG. where to start, i have no idea. first off, this is a funky weird keyboard that ièm using (case and pont!). the flight from luton was fine and uneventful, other than the surprise when i landed that i had to buy a visa... €45 later (or i had the option of paying $60 USD), i was allowed to enter. welcome to turkey!
i met a super nice englishman here on business who was in the line for the visa behind me and took pity on me, so let me hop in his €70 cab ride into the city. we had landed at sabiha gökçen whıch is far far far from the city.
i found my hostel wıthout fanfare. i´m stayıng in the temple bar equivalent here, and it´s empty. but i´m making friends with all the restaurent people here who want me to eat at their establishment.
for dinner i had adana kebab, some cool hollow bread thingy, an efes beer, and turkish tea.
now i´m gonna try my luck at kıckıng some of the hostel people´s butts ın sheıshbeish. let´s see if i can be a shark...
tomorrow i plan to walk around the sultanahmet area, check out the bazaar to change my money, and go nuts with the camera. i´ll be leaving for selçuk tomorrow night on the overnight bus. off i go...

p.s. i need to also mention that the drivers here are by far the worst i've ever experienced. worse than the israelis. bless my grandpapa, but it's a city full of his driving 'skills' and even worse! eek!
