A lot has happened since I wrote last....On March 16, 2006 Jenna, Ryan and I headed towards Lago Atitlan. We had no idea how long it was going to take! The whole journey ended up being 8 hours! We took around 7 different chicken buses, and from Panajachel we took a boat to get to San Pedro. It was such a relief to get there! The following day was Jenna´s birthday and St. Patrick´s day. A friend Paul, (a wee Irish lad) planned a huge party for St. Patty´s day and Jenna was the guest of honor. All the friends we have made along the way showed up at the party, it was soooo much fun! I walked Ryan to the bus stop at 5am, we barely made it! Jenna and I had to take the whole next day to re cooperate! We ended up spending the next few days relaxing by the lake and eating great food. Monday we checked out Panajachel, and did some shopping. Tuesday we were going to head to Panajachel to study Spanish there for a few weeks, but in a last minute decision we headed to Antigua instead. That was about a 5 hour journey on the chicken buses. When we got here we had no idea where we were going for school, so we hopped on the internet and found one. We were set up with a family to stay with within the hour we arrived, and today we started back at school. We definitely do not like our school as much as the one we were at in Xela, so we are going to do some more research for our studies next week. This weekend we are meeting up with a friend of Jenna´s who is in town for a conference. From here we are headed to Coban, but that won´t be for another 2 weeks...........
