Left Laramie, Wyoming and headed for Salt Lake City, Ut. This trip in roughly 465 miles and will take us 6-7 hours. This is probably going to be the longest Manuel will be driving so far. We have been trying to keep his driving under 4 hours to make it easier on him.

The drive went smoothly. We did stop several times for breaks for both Manuel and Chuckie and of course to gas up and eat. The topography started changing once we started getting closer to Utah. Ah, the beautiful rock formations. I love them! I really forced myself to not take so many pictures of rocks! We passed several small towns while still in Wyoming. They all looked very similar to Laramie and Cheyenne, more Laramie as Cheyenne is a larger area.

Salt Lake City is huge! But getting to SLC, the last elevation sign I noticed indicated we were at the 6600 level, this was out by Park City, Ut. Not sure if Salt Lake City is at the same level. However, the Park City area is gorgeous. It is very green, pine trees, beautiful homes and recreational areas. It must be beautiful in the winter!

When leaving the Park City area, we were hit by a tremendous rain storm! Lightening, thunder, you could barely see the road, we had to drive at about 25 mph, scary! But the temperature was probably in the eighties. Hmm, I wonder if it was a monsoon, since Arizona we have heard a lot about monsoons but have yet to experience one. Anyway, it lasted about 15 minutes then cleared up. At this point we were almost at the campsite.

We arrive at the campsite around 6pm. It is a another KOA and is very large. It is close to downtown and Temple Square. This is good. Also found out that there are free shuttles and tours of the Temple from the campground. Cool!

We settle in, the temperature is hot, we go to the pool to cool off a bit then head back to make dinner and watch TV! Watching TV has become a treat as we have not had cable in most of the campgrounds we have been in.
