After I had a chilled day I went to the Old Melbourne Jail. As I had some time in between shifts I decided to have a coffee and cheesecake at Starbucks. At 5.45pm I was at the Jail and ready to do my shift there.
If you are wondering! Yes the Old Melbourne Goal is used to be an actual jail and is very famouse for Ned Kelley who was a prisoner there. If you want to read more about it I would recommened to visit there homepage www.oldmelbournegaol.com.au
So what would people do in a jail. Well we had a drinks reception this evening for a very bug company in Melbourne and they just wanted to show of a little. It was ok to work and it was a good team there, too. The time flew by pretty quick and the canapes they had very yummy. of course the client just ordered by far to much food for everyone and it was so much left overs. I managed even to get some pasta out of it for my lunch tomorrow. Awsome!!!
The Jail itself is pretty cool. I was thinking the other day to go in there. You still have the actual cells etc there and they turned it around to a museum. Pretty cool and defenetly worth visiting. As we weren't extremly busy i had some time in between wondering around there and having a look at things while I was serving canapes to guest. Thats how we roll. Some people call that work!!!
P.s to my Uk hospitality friends: Trust me we are doing by far to much for what we are getting payed there!!!
After I finished my shift at around 9.30pm I went of to meet Paul for a couple of drinks. It was nice to catch up with him and he seemed to have a few raff groups lately. But that will go by, too. We had a good laugh and hang out for a while just talking.
