Where I stayed
Anyway not to be detered we ventured off to get breakfast and find accomidation. I lot of people have told me how nice Krakow is and the arcticathure is truely amazing. Even on this cold, wet morning the square was absolutly wonderful. The only trouble is that we still had an hour before the resturants opened and the place would look a whole lot better with something hot in our stomachs.
We tralled the streets looking for food and accomidation and actually saw a lot of this old walled city just in this pursuit. We eventally found a place to stay that but the hotel staff didn't seem over enthisiastic. The place looked like it was still being built and we were the only people staying there. To be honest we scored well as the unit had a little kitchen as well.
Still back to the city. It really is beautiful and we spent the first day taking in the sights and wondering around the old streets.
The next day we took a trip out to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. We really didn't know how this we going to affect us. Travelling around the former Yugoslavia and seeing the towns still devistrated by the war plus the hugh cematries really hit home and we knew this was going to be another hard day.
We first walked though the gates of Auschwitz camp.
