Hi Everyone!

Arizona is HOT!! And...the cacti are TALL!!

We spent 7 days in Arizona - the first stop was Phoenix/Scottsdale where we stayed with Jordan's brother Josh and his wife Nancy. Josh runs a tennis academy and Nancy is the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for Arizona State in Tempe. We visited some great spots for Doce Vida ~ The Phoenician Resort and Spa, The Gainey Ranch Resort and Spa, Scottsdale Athletic Club, The Arizona Biltmore - a Frank Lloyd Wright design, very cool, The Marriot Resort and Spa Desert Ridge (gorgeous!) and The Pilates Institute of Scottsdale...we are having a great time making contacts. We hiked Camelback Mountain ~ the vistas from the top were vast and there is a lot of modern adobe style architecture among the cacti and desert landscape.

We really love Sedona ~ Red Rocks for miles with beautiful pink sunsets. It felt really powerful to be among the 30 billion year old formations. We learned that the area is even thought of as the Garden of Eden in the Yavapai Native American culture. We also tried a local food - grilled cactus! It was reallly tasty and full of nutrients. We had a great meeting at The Enchantment Resort and Spa - Mii Amo - which was just voted the 2nd top resort in the world! The grounds were really peaceful and relaxing....and the cucumber lemon water was very refreshing!

And of course...The Grand Canyon ~ breathtaking, soothing and awe-inspiring...staring into the expansive views of the buttes fills your imagination with creativity and spirituality. Too hot though to hike down too far this time of year ~ 115 degrees. Oh and we saw a female elk along the way...she was divine.

Some Americana for you...we stopped at Flinstone's Bedrock Park, Meteor City, The Dinosaur Park and The Painted Desert...all along historic Route 66. No alien sightings this time though!

Stay tuned in as we travel along historic Route 66 towards New Mexico!
