So we're in Houston now, but not for long. We'll be leaving in just a bit to take the animals to a boarding facility, and ourselves to the airport. We have to fly to Las Vegas. More on that later.
Getting here was a pain. Literally. I woke up on Saturday with a terrible headache. Probably from sitting in all that wind all day Friday. Well, it never got better, only much worse. It turned into a major migraine as the day wore on. I felt bad because I couldn't help Albert with the driving because the pain was too bad and I kept drifting in and out of consciousness all day. I guess I was asleep more than I was awake. Albert had to drive 10 straight hours by himself. Through spells of intense, hard-hitting rain and terrible traffic. A section of I-10 was closed due to some gas line explosion, so we were diverted to another route. I pretty much slept through it all. Poor guy. He said it really wasn't bad. I hope he wasn't just trying to make me feel better.
Yesterday I still had my migraine, but absolutely had to get laundry done before the Vegas trip. I spent the day in the laudromat, trying not to cry every time the machines beeped. They let out this ear-piercing beep to remind you to press start, to remind you to add bleach, and to tell you that the cycle is done. Each time they would beep at least 10 times in a row. And if several were beeping at the same time, oh forget it. I thought I was going to die.
This morning I feel a bit better, but nowhere near 100%. But I've got to get all the packing done and get the 'kids' dropped off, so I'd better suck it up.
