Hoi An is a really nice, chilled town that is renowned as the best place in Vietnam to get quality, but cheap tailored suits. Here I bought a tux and two other tailored suits, with three shirts for around 250 USD! We had been recommended to go by Ian (who we'd traveled through Laos with) and he didn't let us down. The guy who runs the shop is really funny and is worth seeing even if you not bothered about getting a suit.

Otherwise my time in Hoi An was about relaxing and meeting up with other people I'd met elsewhere on my travels. Marc and myself went with one of these people, Kieran, to the beach. Now the easiest way to get to the beach is to grab a motorbike taxi - should be no problem, as they're always calling us over asking if we want a lift. But on this occasion, we can't seem to find any - very strange! We then find a bloke and a woman who are willing to take the three of us on their two bikes (having three on a bike is not usual here and you often see a family of four on one bike) and we agree a price. However, from nowhere, six official-looking guys on four bikes swooped and start having a go at the couple, with the girl particularly getting angry. We decide it's best to walk off and find other drivers, which we do.

I would also point out that this was my first time on a motorbike and nearly seeing Marc getting wiped out within a minute by someone cutting up his driver, was not what I wanted to see. That said, we made it to the beach and had a couple of hours there, before heading back to the hotel and catching the over-night bus to Nha Trang.
