Didn't have a great night last night and awoke feeling quiet exhausted. Dan took the kids out for a few hours to allow me some time to catch up on sleep. We had nothing planned for the day so that was fortunate.

They decided to check out the Guinness Book of World Records exhibition in Hollywood. There they found the worlds fattest man, the worlds tallest man, the worlds biggest cat, the worlds biggest cranium reconstruction, the worlds biggest strawberry and the worlds most recognisable video game character just to name a few. The whole place was interesting but a little tired. It needed a make over.

A stroll down Hollywood Boulevard allowed them to meet a few more quirky locals, probably unemployed wanna be actors and pop stars. These guys hustle tourists trying to sell their CD's and others are dressed as movie characters charging to pose for photos.

In the afternoon we drove to The Beverly Centre which was an up market shopping Mall. It was massive in size with all kinds of department stores represented. A wander through Macey's quickly produced a few items for Grace and I. Afternoon tea was at Johnny Rockets. Delicious old fashioned milk shakes for everyone.

Lastly we did a quick walk up Rodeo Drive, window shopping some of the designer shops. The Nike super store was huge with shoes arriving via a shute. The colours and designs are incredible, many we hadn't seen in any other store. Hamish was able to finally get his Flynits, which are perfect for him, no shoelaces!

Back at the hotel we wandered back through the Hollywood Highland centre checking out Victoria's Secret, Sephora and the Oakley Store. We really enjoyed Hollywood this time. The Orchid Suites were well positioned, reasonably priced and quite comfortable. It was great to wander around the shops at night when they were less crowed. Tomorrow we head down the coast to check out some of the beaches.
