I got up at 8 am and some of the younger folks were going out to the park
for a hike so I joined them.  I had intended to take a short hike but ended up
trying to keep up with them, not being entirely successful, but they were kind enough to
wait for me.  The hike was along the shore for a good part of it and you
could smell the salty air.  The terrain was pretty much what we had on our walk yesterday but muddier.  There were lots of old, dead trees with moss or
lichen and some interesting beaches with mussel shells and flat, round stones.
It took quite a while to walk around the shore and none of us had a lot of food
or water.  Emma had brought some peanuts and when I had lost the rest of them, I finished the peanuts.  I felt so bad when she was looking for the rest of her peanuts.

I had lost my watch so I am not sure what time we finished.  Emma and I
decided to go to town when we got a taxi from the park while the guys headed back to our

In Ushuaia, Emma and I had a nice lunch.  She had quesadillas and I had a brusquetta with smoked salmon.  I practiced my limited Spanish on the waiter and he helped us.  Then we went looking for a
replacement watch (first choice was a penguin watch) for me but not much was open because it was Sunday. The trip
to the ATM to replenish.my Argentine money wasnīt
entirely successful either even though the third machine finally yielded some
money...I could only take out around $80 US with a 4 dollar charge so I wasnīt
about to try to take out another 80.

We went back to the hostel and I sat by the stove to get warm, got on the internet and waited for dinner of ravioli with a nice salad.  I thought I lost my leggings, but it turned out that I hadn't.  I am ready for bed on my top bunk and it isnīt even dark yet.  Oh, well.
Tomorrow we go north again and
head for El Calafate and another glacier.  We cross the Argentina-Chile border
at least once.
