Where I stayed
Camping Pehoe - Torres del Paine National Park
I had time to
kill because the weather was rainy and windy, so a short hike didnīt seem like a
really good idea. The catamaran didn't arrive until noon for the return trip. I talked with the nice new English couple in my room and Katie who had been on the estancia on the next leg of the Dragoman trip but she had left that job to travel herself. I tried to find something to read...anything...ended up with
the comment book which was somewhat amusing for awhile. Some folks were very complimentary and there were others complaining about the food and the luxuriousness of the refugio as inappropriate.
It was sunny and less windy today but colder with some clouds. So in some ways, it would have been a great day to hike.
After the catamaran trip, I found Lou, Sarah and Hilary at the Parilla at Camping Pehoe. They recommended it for lunch since they had just finished eating, so I had some salmon and potatoes with a pisco sour. The salmon was excellente. Then we took photos from the lake shore with its fantastic view of the peaks until the others came back.
I was ready for bed
earlier, but stayed up for dinner.
