Checking in from Surfer's Paradise,

Got super-fortunate once again and have been able to stay in a friend of a friend's place (luxury-condo) for our time here. Two good friends from toronto were already staying here - so it's been fun to see them.

Although St. Patty's Day isn't nearly as big here as home, we tried the best we could to change that. Arrived the mornign of, and with our host (Meg) claiming this was a bigger day than Christmas, we started things off as quickly as possible. Decked out in green shirts, silly hats and one guy in a ridiculous vest - we found a great Irish bar for our festivities. Possibly the highlight was this drunken 35-year-old lady who fancied Pete. For a little fun, pete (unknown to her) was able to tie a balloon to her pants!! Beware of the Roo's
Beware of the Roo's
! = as you can imagine - watching this lady walk around the bar for a couple hours with a helium balloon tied to her pants was hilarious (the balloon even accompanied her into a cab).

A rugby game in Brisbane was good cause to take a day/night trip up there - so 7 of us went and had an awesome time. It was a rugby league game (as opposed to our traditional rugby union) so very interesting to watch the differences. Occasion was also reason to have a fun time out afterwards as well.

Not sure where the path lies ahead - as we may head back south to Byron to be in the city as it holds a massive festival (ridiculous line-up) - wouldn't see any of it, but the town would be buzzing, or to continue our oz-experience tour up north. Can't believe at all that it's March 21 - so maybe we need to get on moving.

Cheers to all. Hope spring takes a broom to all the snow!!
