Again the parents went for breakfast at 7.15am and then returned to do the
packing ready for us to leave at 9.30am. We drove for 2 hours to Palm
Springs, Zoe and Laura watched T.V on the laptop whilst Daniel
navigated.
The temperature was 110 degrees upon arrival and none of us were looking
forward to getting out the air conditioned car. We arrived at 11.30am
to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, brought our tickets and them took the
11.50am car from Valley Station 2,643 feet above sea level to
Mountain Station 8,516 feet above sea level. The floor of the Tramway
car rotated giving everybody a 360 degree view, although it was
slightly sickening.
Once at Mountain Station we walked to the viewing platforms to admire the
views and take pictures. After enough time in the heat we stopped for
lunch before half the group decided to go for a mile hike. We all
took the Tramway down at 2.30pm and then drove back the way we came
to visit an outlet store we passed on the way.
After 2 hours shopping and spending lots of money, we headed to the hotel.
We checked in and Daniel, Zoe and Mick went for a swim and happy hour
drinks in the sun. At 6.30pm we showered and got ready to go for tea
at 8pm. After walking up and down the street we finally found
somewhere to eat at 8.45pm.
After a nice meal and more happy hour drinks, we walked back to the hotel
at 10.30pm and got ready for bed at 11.30pm.
