Day 11: Camden, ME (Camden Hills SP)
Jun 30, 2012
Jul 23, 2012
As we continue our trip up the coast, we will spend a brief time in New Hampshire. New Hampshire doesn't have much of a coastline and it didn't take us long to pass through New Hampshire. It wasn't long before we crossed into Maine. As we drove through Maine we started to notice that the landscape was changing. Maine's coast is hilly compared to the other New England states and the shoreline contains much more rocks. Not as much traffic and we are passing through a lot of small towns. This is my kind of country. By driving along route 1 on the coast we are getting some great views of Maine's coastline. Most of what we see are inland sounds, bays, and harbors that feed into the Atlantic. As we traveled through one small town we got glimpse of an actual L.L. Bean store. Maine is headquarters for L.L. Bean. We will make it to Camden, Maine today where we will camp at Camden Hills State Park for the night.
