7/20/2010 – Yellowstone, WY
Grand Teton is just south of
Yellowstone and not as large as Yellowstone but the Teton mountains
are beautiful. We spent the day touring Grand Teton National Park.
The park also contained a large lake and several smaller lakes. We
took a hike of just over 3 miles roundtrip to one of the smaller
lakes, Taggart Lake. This lake could only be seen from the trail and
was not visible from the road
leading up to the lake was very nice and we took several photos. The
mountains served as a backdrop for the lake which made for some great
photos. Upon arriving at the lake my son noticed a small water snake
sitting on a rock that my daughter had just stepped over. My
daughter doesn't like snakes so of course she started running over
the rocks as if they weren't there. She didn't have any problem
hopping over the rocks. I guess that was the adrenaline going.
After the hike we headed back for
Yellowstone. We stopped at a picnic area on Jackson Lake, which is
Grand Teton's largest lake, to have dinner.
