Hmmm, to lie by the ocean or by the pool? These are some of the hard decisions you are faced with when on a tropical vacation. Well, I chose the pool this time.  Another day of breakfast at 10:30 a.m. then off to the strenuous part of the day.  After about ninety minutes by the pool (I hated to have a time limit) I headed to my next high stress appointment.

We had a catamaran tour booked for about six hours.  The bus took us to the town of Tamarindo where a small boat took us out to the big boat.  It was really, really nice.  The young man who is the owner of the boat told us his story of how he had gone to grad school in California to become a lawyer.  His uncle convinced him to come to Costa Rica to work and he ended up staying.  He has been here for ten years now, got married and spends his life taking tourists sailing.  Talk about a different lifestyle!

There were about twenty of us on the boat and after about an hour of driving they stopped the boat so we could snorkel, kayak or swim.  We saw giant sea turtles on the way and these really cool silver fish that jump through the water.  They provided us with great customer service.  As soon as we got on the boat they walked around with a tray of fresh fruit to offer us, then they walked around with a pitcher of water and then they walked around with a tray of cookies.  After our time in the water they provided us with a nice lunch before we headed back to shore.  On our way back the sails came out and I was lying on my back looking at the beautiful blue sky with Bob Marley playing in the background.  As much as I love my city vacations I am starting to think I might be able to get used to this.

I am now starting my vigil to catch a picture of the raccoon rodent things on my patio but I don't have the cat here tonight to growl and let me know they are coming so if I stop typing all of the sudden it is probably because they are right under me and I am freaking out and running inside.  I don't know how to entice them but they sure seem to find their way up here on my own.  If I am not successful you can just google them for a picture.

Seeing the sea turtles must have been neat. You said they gave you the opportunity to snorkel, but you didn't mention if you did.
Yes, there are times in our lives when we want an active vacation and other time a restful vacation is just what the doctor ordered! I'm glad you are enjoying it! :)

Re: Turtles
I didn't snorkel. I just got out and swam all over and to the shore and stuff. They had one guy out in a kayak that was keeping track of all of us to make sure we didn't drown or anything, and the guy with us I could tell was watching me because I was so far away, which I just loved because you know how much I love being babysat :) I understand though that it looks kinda bad coming back with one less passenger than you left with....
