We started off the morning with a leisurely get up and then headed over to the breakfast buffet. I think my body is going to go into shock because I have never had three meals a day while traveling.  My main meal is usually the sandwich from the convenience store next to my hostel at 11:00 at night, so getting all of this gourmet food is a major treat.  After breakfast we came back to our villa and changed into swimwear before heading out to the ocean.  This resort is right on the ocean so you come over this small hill out the doors of the resort and there is the most beautiful blue ocean I have ever seen.  We did not hang out there long before heading out to the pool.  It is really nice being here on off season because I suspect we would have a hard time finding a lounge chair otherwise.  We got our pick of location and found this nice secluded group of chairs under the cute little thatched covered umbrellas.  We had lunch at this great little restaurant right next to the pool.  I didn't know what I was ordering so that is why I picked it but I ended up with some type of cold fish soup with some octopus in it.  It was a little disgusting when you saw the tentacles but it all tasted good.

We got some great pictures of iguanas today.   A lot of them are multi-colored grey and brown so they blend into the rocks or they are bright green so they blend into the grass.  There are a ton of them hanging out by the pond next to our villa.  Don’t worry though, I made myself put down the camera after a while so I won’t bore you too terribly with hundreds of shots of the same iguana in different poses.  They are cool though.  I was told that our resident patio visitors for the day included more cats, a skunk and two raccoons.  And we are upstairs so they have to really want to come visit us.  Needless to say, I was glad I wasn’t here to enjoy their company.

Oh and just a tip for you ladies out there who might be taking a tropical vacation.  Make sure you cut your bangs really short before coming.  What I wouldn’t give for a pair of scissors right now, because with the humidity my hair just keeps falling in my eyes.  I would even resort to using a machete if I could find one.  That probably isn’t too far-fetched for me to find one in Costa Rica.

The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging by the pool.  At least for me.  Others were otherwise occupied.  One was getting a massage on the beach, one was hanging out with the cute resort doctor and one was hanging out in the villa.  We all met up at the pool and although we had placed bets on when the rain was going to start coming down, based on the black clouds overhead at lunch, it had bypassed us so far.  Well, by early evening it decided to show its face but fortunately we made it back to the villa before it started pouring.    The rain did not last too long and then we headed out to explore before having dinner.  We had the same waiter Norman for our dinner at the Italian restaurant.  Apparently they just work at whatever restaurant is open at the time so you can have the same guy for two meals at two different restaurants.  He treated us well and kept bringing us samples of his favorite food which was fun.  By the end of the evening he was showing us pictures of his kids and I think he would have joined us for dinner if he could.  We did not get seated at dinner until 9:00 p.m. so by the time we got done, we had lost our enthusiasm for roaming around anymore and just decided to come back to the villa.  I guess going to bed at 12:30 a.m. isn’t too early though…..

Okay so you peaked my interest telling us about the iguanas, but where are the pictures? Can't you post them? I'd also like to see pictures of the beautiful blue ocean you are talking about.
You were very brave to eat octopus soup. I'm glad it at least tasted good. Sounds like this is one trip where your feet will get a rest and you won't starve yourself!
Keep having fun!

Re: Picture
All right I have to confess now that the iguana picture is not one I took so don't get too excited. I just googled them and used that picture. That is what I did for my Germany picture though. Although I have pictures just like that so it is legitimate....
