Where I stayed

Left home early and headed straight for Wilpena Pound Information Centre, after stopping at the National Park entrance and getting a permit.  There was 4 walks and a multitudes of hikes to choose from.  I thought we were going on a 600m trail but Doug knew it was a 6km trek.  He did tell me after about 1km that it was 6km each way when he also knew that it was only 6km return.  I thought we'd be spending all day on this trek and wouldn't get to see anything else.  Also I only had a 600ml water bottle which I knew wouldn't be enough for 6km.  Luckily we worked it out and thoroughly enjoyed the walk to Hills Homestead and lookout.

We had intended heading to Blinman about 60km away but saw a sign for a geological scenic trail which took us through Bunyeroo Gorge and Barchina Gorge, this was a great diversion as we drove up and down mountains and along river beds.  Some great views and photos.

Returned home about 3.30pm very tired and blew the cobwebs out of the cruiser ready for Coober Pedy later in the week.

Doug is sorry we couldn't put Wilpena Pound on the map - the system wouldn't let us, so we're just sitting in Hawker.
