I started with "Clerks II" by myself. The movie provided a welcome dose of New Jersey. Overall the movie is quite funny, except for one or two overly gross scenes. In one scene, some nerds have a Star Wars vs. Lord of the Rings argument. I howled with laughter.
After "Clerks II," I headed back to MACC for a nice nap. Upon arising, I met Chuck and Monica and we went to see "My Super Ex-Girlfriend." A very enjoyable summer comedy. Uma Thurman excels as a super hero; much more exciting than the new Superman. Many laughs all around.
Following the movie we dined at the Texas Roadhouse next to the movie theater. The restaurant is a barbecue chain, similar to Outback (exploding onion appetizer, etc.). We had a slow waiter. It took him forever to bring the bread that is supposed to be placed as soon as you sit down. Then we had to ask three times for silverware. Chuck ordered a salad and he had to wait because he had the salad, but no silverware. The food is excellent. I had the half-rack ribs dinner with sweet potato and mixed vegetables. The ribs were juicy and easily fell off the bone. Also, I did not need to ask for extra sauce. Chuck had a steak and ribs combo and Monica had pork chops that were not cooked enough; a little too pink.
