We really are in Chongqing. Can't get the city to stay there for some reason. Today was not quite a good day for Emma. Dave was indoctrined to her cold and unfortunately lost most of her bottle and breakfast all over Dave. We played it low key as she was definitely not feeling good, I am sure part of it was grieving the orphanage and part of it her cold. We took a group trip to the Chongqing zoo and it had to be 105 degrees with again humidity of 150%. Emma made it through the Panda exhibit which were cool! 6 pandas in all - one being the oldest mom in the world. Alex took Emma and carried her around as she was not all that interested in seeing much. After the zoo we came back and hung out at the hotel until our group dinner at a 5 star restaurant. Real china dinnerware, not what we would consider China cuisine - definitely indiginous to the area - Chongqing. We had a 15 course dinner - most of which you wouldn't catch anyone in America eating - lotus flowers (which tasted like a yam); Fried pork on a stick which didn't look bad on the outside but definitely raw on the inside
Love to all!!

Emma's 1st trip to the zoo
. Matzo ball soup which was somewhat edible, date rice, and what we would think was corn - was really some type of bean. Emma seemed to be enjoying the rice and scrambled egg dish. dave was feeding her with chopsticks and not fast enough b/c she started licking her tray. That ended quickly when she throw up all over her tray (which by the way we were surrounded by mirrored walls and had a wait staff of about 5 looking over our shoulders). Quite ackward to say the least. The best part about dinner was we were able to celebrate a member of our group's birthday and were treated to Chocolate cake - that everyone said was really good! Got pics of the kids eating theirs with chopsticks! We ended the night going back to the mall b/c the kids wanted to go shopping. This mall is not your typical Brookfield Square or Mayfair Mall. This is a highly upscale mall where there are 7 stories with an ice skating rink, bowling alley, cinema, etc. Alex was looking for a pair of jeans and the best bargain we could find was a pair of Armani jeans for $300 USD. No he didn't get them! Went back to the hotel and Kenzie was worried about not having enough clean clothes to wear so she asked if she should wash some. Of course we said - that's a great idea. So she emptied her suitcase and began her own chinese laundry service out of the cleaned bathtub (of course we cleaned it after Emma's bath) and used the highest grade hotel shampoo she could find. Needless to say that 24 hours later, the whole family (except Alex and Emma) were taking hair dryers to dry her clothes so that she can pack them by the time they come for our bags at 1:30 pm. Quite a day in the Niedfeldt's Adventure to China. check out the pics - you'll get a laugh!Love to all!!
