Finally, it was time to leave. The three month visa the embassy in South Africa was expiring (thanks a lot Indian Embassy in Johannesburg, if I see you on the side of the road hitchhiking, you're out of luck.)
With only a couple of days left on the visa, I had decided to catch a short flight to Kathmandu. Despite trying to take as few flights as possible, there was a lot of trouble in Terai, the southern region of Nepal I would cross the border at if I went by land. I wasn't worried about anything happening, but as a side effect, there were strikes and curfews occasionally called that could ground land traffic to a halt for days. To save myself the possible headache, and to just get to Nepal as soon as possible, I flew.
So sue me.
