Well, before I start this whole, sordid blog thing, I suppose I should explain how it started. My apologies to all of you who have heard this before.

I've spent the last year in Neuchatel, teaching at Neuchatel Junior College, a Canadian school in Switzerland. It was an amazing year. full of travel, laughs, blah, blah, blah.

The short version is it re-ignited my passion for travel in a huge way. Five years in Toronto had been enough, it was time to go. I'll come back eventually and give the long, pensive version of how and why, but that's enough for now. Suffice to say I now have no job, no apartment, and no prospects, and most days I couldn't be happier.

England was the first stop on my trip, chosen because it was the cheapest flight, and of course, because it is the home of my very dear, much loved friends, Matt and Lisa (and their little entourage of Poppy and Jamie). A lovely little holiday home in the pretty little fishing port of Porthleven.

It's nice to have friends. It's nicer to have friends with holiday homes in Cornwall.

curry in Ajax
DJ I am interested to hear if you found a curry to compare with that in Ajax at the Mount Everest. It's good to hear from you occasionally and I look forward to hearing all about it if you ever return to Canada.
