Decided to go out to Fishercap Lake to watch the sun come up and maybe see the moose I never can seem to see; no luck on the moose
Shared the morning with 3 playful deer
Cooked oatmeal using the coffee maker in my room
Packed up all my stuff and moved to my campsite down by the river
Fixed up my sore feet with moleskin and got ready to hike
Overcast, but great hiking up
I saw no bears, but clearly they had been here. See the bear scat full of berries
Clearly the higher in elevation I got the more sping like it became
Just beyond this meadow and lake I saw Iceberg Lake, which was beyond belief!
Came back down after considering going up to the Ptarmagian Tunnel, I made the right decision not to do it as my feet were burning
Got huckleberry and vanilla twist at the store
And then I tried the pay phone again and this time I could get through; it was wonderful to hear Jerryn and to be able to tell her I was ok
Switched shoes and then to motel lobby to see if my 24 hours of Internet was still active and it was so I tried sending off some emails agin. This time it seemed like they might go through
Then I walked to the iconic Many Glacier Hotel
On my way I saw cars stopping on the road, which always means a wildlife sighting, in this case a grizzly bear--my first!
This picture complete with somebody else's camera and hands at the bottom will explain why I wasn't reaching for my pepper spray even though I was packing! Can you find the bear?
At hotel I tried to sign up for Monday's boat trip and Grinnel glacier walk, but the boat was full and there was a huge waiting list, so I signed up for the Tuesday tour which I should be able to do
Church service with Ali, Kalyn, and Nicole at the ampitheater; talked with them about Tim Keller's book The Freedom of Self Forgetfulness
Moose at Fishercap
A cow in the lake
Bears were the subject at the ranger talk
Bears bear bare bears
Black raspberries are red when they are green
Grizzlies eat glacial Lilly bulbs like Baylee my dog eats bulbs
