I took my Securities test this morning. If I would have turned that in at FSU, I surely was asking for an F, but I was relying on the fact that it was another country and relying on the fact that all I needed was a C- to pass and get credit at my school without it affecting my GPA. So, I did that, came back and took a little siesta and woke up for lunch.
After lunch, I boarded another train and headed to Segovia! Segovia is a little city that's 54 miles to the Northwest of Madrid. It was once the center of Castile, where Isabella was proclaimed queen. The city later became the center of Ferdinand and Isabella's kingdom.
As I got off the train I headed into the tourist office and found out the best way to see sights in the short time that I was going to be there. She recommended that I take the city bus #11 into the city and take that on the return as well. So that's what I did.
I decided that I had a little time to go inside the Alcazar and see some of the history inside. It was beautiful - and so much history. It was once used as a School for Artillery after the royalty no longer used it and then now it's a tourist spot. It was absolutely beautiful.
I wish I had more time in Segovia because it was absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend it to anyone who has a short amount of time to visit it! Lots of history...beautiful architecture!
On the way back, I called my familia to tell them how excited I was to be doing this travelling thing but how badly I wanted to go home and see them soon.
I made it back in time for dinner; although, I don't know why I wasted my time doing that - dinner sucked, again! We ordered pizza, again, to help us make it through the night of studying.
Rather than studying, however, I decided that I knew enough to make it through that test and Ashley and I decided to sit and watch surfthechannel.com and watched some Law and Order SVU episodes...so nice! If you haven't seen the Season 9 of SVU, you need to watch it...

City Bus to the Old City
And, I'm so happy I went. There isn't much history of Segovia in the Roman days, except the fact that there is a humongo-jumbo Roman aqueduct showing that they once inhabited the lands.
In Front of the Roman Aquiduct
I walked up the stairs of the Aqueduct, walked around the city, saw some of the beautiful botanical gardens,
Gardens in the City
the Cathedral,
Cathedral
and the Alcazar (the palace).
On the top of the Alcazar

Talking to Mi Familia
When I told my sis that she wasn't allowed to be late to pick me up from the airport, she actually made me start sobbing...I miss mi familia!
My Thithta made me cry...
This is so different than just being away at school, I'm in another country...I don't know how people do it for so long...I made it back in time for dinner; although, I don't know why I wasted my time doing that - dinner sucked, again!
