So we figured we were in Barcelona, guess we ha to wake up early despite the fact that we partied like crazy people the night before. We woke up in the morning, did a little bit of shopping at the mall down the street, ate some fabuloso Chinese food at the mall...my goodness it was great...then headed to la playa (the beach)!
Despues de la playa, Ashley, Shajine, and I headed back to the mall to get some change but it didn't quite work...we couldn't get them to convert cashier's checks. Traveler's Note: For safety reasons, bring traveler's checks...but don't expect that to be your form of money, it's really hard to get someone to convert it...sorry, that was just an FYI. Anyway, on the way back, we thought we'd get some safety food before we headed out. Let's just say it was something called "McDonalds"...not that you would know what that was or anything...but, my goodness, $10 US for some Chicken Nuggets...this Euro sucks! By the way, did you know you can get a beer instead of un bebida (a soda) here? Interesante! I stuck to the Fanta, sin hielo. (no ice.)
We got ready and headed to Rosa Negra, a Spanish restaurant before we headed out. Got a pitcher of Strawberry Margaritas...they are not light on the liquor here! Then we asked around for the hot spot of the night. Toby and her Spanish connection directed us to the Catwalk, which was over by the beach. So, after riding the Metro station, we arrived at the Catwalk and got some special passes for a discount. "Cuanto??" --- 18 euros....ummm, heck no! That converts to about $30+ for club entrance....oh no, they got the wrong one! So, luckily, being ladies, we got some Ladies Free passes and got in! Once again, another fabulous night - the first one was better - but this one was fab, too! It's so nice being able to go out and meet people where dancing is a universal language - I realized that I couldn't communicate with anyone I was dancing with but it was a blast - I was able to find out that one was from Almeria (Germany) and others from Espaņa.
We came back to the hotel, made for 2 people, and packed up like some real tourists - 6 in the room! But, I'm so glad I came with these girls....they're really nice people and we're really having a good time.
Jamaica Coffee Shop...lol!
We walked across the bridge to find the beautiful, gorgeous Mediterranean Sea! It wasn't quite South Beach, the water was a little bit more green and the sand a little bit more stiff, but beautiful nevertheless! On the way to la playa...
Just getting some sun!
It was hot, but oh so gorgeous! The wind was blowing and you could hardly feel the heat. I got a short little nap on my towel and then decided that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go for a dip. I had to be able to say that I swam in the Mediterranean - and that's exactly what I did. It was like swimming in South Beach in the winter, hot as heck outside and then when you go in it was "as cold as ice"...sorry, I had to bust into song. But, once I got in, it was fab!Despues de la playa, Ashley, Shajine, and I headed back to the mall to get some change but it didn't quite work...we couldn't get them to convert cashier's checks. With my German friend
But, regardless of the fact that we couldn't understand each other...we still had a great time!"1906" Beer for an Alpha....how lame!
Just the drinks this time!
Cheers!
At Catwalk!
