Day 3 -- July 1

Got home, 3:30, 4:00 AM. But, given the fact that I had drank coke & vino (apparently a Spanish thing - a mix of coke and wine-- those of you that know me know that I can't drink caffeine) and was sleeping in a freaking hot room - I didn't fall asleep until about 6:30. So much fun the night before just walking up and down Madrid but gross...had to wake up for class in the morning. And because none of us had been to classes before, we had to meet as a group at 8:30 and walk over together...practically holding hands. I'm so not a morning person...so you know this was just the highlight of my day, right?

Luckily because it was the first day, classes weren't that bad. It was really just introductions of the professors and the outline of what we were going to be doing for the semester. It wasn't bad. So, yay, it's time for Siesta!!! Did I take it like a smart person? Nope, the socialite that I am ran around with some of my newfound buddies and ended up back at VIPS for lunch! I'm such a smart kid, aren't I?

I think I may have put my head down for about 5 minutes before my alarm clock went off, sheesh! We had to meet downstairs for a 5 o'clock scavenger hunt. You would think this was a scavenger hunt around the dorm or campus, right? Nope...it was a scavenger hunt around Madrid. But, to make matters worse, they made us wear these hideous tourist tshirts with a big ol' Summer in Madrid and picture of España on it. It was a clear "I'm a tourist -- rob me now" shirt. But, I get the whole point of it - they wanted to introduce us to the city and introduce us to each other. But, I swear, we ran around the city and I probably shed somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 pounds, in one day. It was horrible!

So after the hunt, I HAD to get in the shower! I smelled SOOO bad, I'm sure! I got in the shower thinking I was going to lay my head down...nope, not again. Din Din - yay, looks like something I can eat - uh, no, it's Fettucini Alfredo con Jamón (ham)...did I forget to mention that everything here has ham? Ham for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While it sounds like something I can enjoy...it's really not all that exciting when it's in all shapes and forms.

Later -- we went to the estación (train station) to get some train tickets to plan our trips. By the time the metro took us there, it was probably about 11:30 PM (or 23:30h)...it was closed...L. Regardless, it was worth it...we ended up having a great time just talking and laughing...it was worth the trip. And, all of us are in the same sorority and 3 out of the 4 of us are Jamaican...small world, eh?

So when we finally made it home around 1 AM it was time to shower again and go to bed...so that's exactly what I did...
