Where I stayed
Dead Horse Ranch State Park,

Sorry I haven't done an entry for a few days but we have been busy.

We spent Sat - Sun - Mon up North with Brandt and Willow.  We stayed at the Dead Horse Ranch State Park, it is pretty big and is on the hill overlooking Cottonwood and across the valley you can see Jerome.  At night the lights from both are beautiful.  It is high desert - around 5200 ft., it was mid 80's during the day and a little cool at night at about 50.

We visited Jerome.  It is an old mining town literally hanging off the side of the mountain.  The streets are narrow and steep - glad we had Brandt's jeep.  Mostly just a tourist town with some history and lots of shops.  The old buildings were facinating.

Then we went to Sedona Sandi & Dix near Sedona

.  We went to a unique shopping mall we had seen part of last year - still didn't get through all of it.  Great art and jewlery.  A lot of the streets were under construction so it was hard getting around.  We also visited the Red Rock Church.  Really cool.

On Tuesday Brandt and Willow went back to Phoenix and Dix and I went up to Prescott to refill his oxygen supply.  We again stayed at the Point of Rocks RV park where we stayed last year - quiet and cool - with trees and lots of BIG rocks.  It is all built around a big rocky point on a hill so a lot of the spaces are next to rock walls.

We came back to Mesa Wed but we took the Hwy 87 route - from 6100 feet to 1100 feet in 50 miles.  Needless to say the highway is curvy and steep but really beautiful scenery.
