Tuesday morning I got a taxi into San Jose (the capital) with Naomi and spent a good few hours meandering the streets and taking in the sights and sounds of a Central American city whilst Naomi worked. Unlike most capital cities San Jose has no real defining focal points but the old colonnial style buildings were very beautiful and grand in design.

The most enjoyable part of the day was having a glass of red wine with my meal on the terrace of the oldest hotel in Costa Rica; Le Gran Hotel. The hotel is a very grand colonial situated on a Plaza and set opposite the National Theatre. It is an ideal place for watching the locals go about there daily business. It is also here that I managed to attract the attention of a large group of school girls that waited for me to finish like some rock star - even though I'm fast approaching 30 yrs I still have it ;)

Tuesday evening Naomi and myself went to a nearby Multi Plaza just off one of the main roads. Unlike England where the usual choice of eateries next to city  main road comprise of Frank and Bennies, Burger King, TGI etc I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of cuisine offered. From a choice of Cuban, Mexican, Spainsh, Argentian, Japanese we opted for Peruvian. The meal I can tell you was absolutely incredible and no Guinea Pigs in sight.
