I was bound determined to make my last day in Europe a great day. After a good breakfast, I went out on the town discovering more of this walled city, looking forward to the Night Watchman's Tour that night. Today, I was able to learn more about the history of Rothenburg, why it's walled and avoided major destruction in World War II. Rothenburg is also a shopper's paradise. The town has fairly cheap items, and one of the largest Christmas stores in the world, and good food. A paradise for tourists. Doing this for a good hour, I went to the town square and watched the famous clock that opens on the hour, then over to a playground right outside the wall. After a whole day of this, and realizing that this is actually my last day in Europe, my coach rehearsed their skit for tonight's party, then ate supper. From there, I went on the Night Watchman's Tour, arguably the best thing in Rothenburg. With a British guide, a and a 5 Euro donation, this tour definitely is worth it. The guide talks about the history of Rothenburg from its beginnings in the 12 Century to now. Definitely a good end to my European adventure, though it was definitely hard to see all my adopted family leave me at the airport the next day. Flying out of Frankfurt, back to Detroit, it was great to be home, but also sad to see all my new found friends leave. I definintely will never forget all the things that I saw, what happened, and all the sights. I'll never see traveling and Europe the same way.
