It finally arrived. June 18, 2008, my first trip to Europe. Flying from Detroit to Heathrow on Northwest, I arrived at about 7 am GMT, 5 hrs ahead of EDT. I started on to Windsor Castle, while the Queen was there. I was able to see her going to the races. I had my first experience with fish and chips and friendly UK pubs there as well. After about 4 hrs there, I headed into the city, toward our hotel. The hotel is located near the Roman wall, where the ancient city of Londinium was. After dinner, and getting my things settled, I went on a walk to St. Paul's Cathedral, the home of Charles and Diana's wedding, across the Millennium Bridge, past the New Globe Theater, getting great views of everything along the Thames. I then walked back to the hotel, calling my parents on my first day in London and Europe. It was probably the easiest time I had falling asleep in my life
