I'm back in town again due to more confusion from SPW TZ - I was told that there would be a monthly meeting this weekend, but it was changed to next week at the last minute, by which time I was already in town. But I'm going to stay for a few days because my dear Grandmother is sick in hospital and I'm waiting on more news before I decide whether or not I need to fly home for a few days, because if I go back to village now I'll be virtually uncontactable.
Besides, there's not a lot to be doing in village at the moment - the secondary school is closed for holidays and the primary school students are doing exams, so we wouldn't be able to teach at the moment. We're trying to get our office and Information Resource Centre set up, but these things require the co-operation of the VEO - Village Executive Officer, and he is unwilling to help - quite possibly because he is drunk most of the day, every day. The people in the village just don't have much else to do after working on their farms for a couple of hours in the morning, so when a litre of the local alcohol can be bought for less than 7 pence, I suppose it's not difficult to see why they take that option.
Anyway, I'll try to upload the photos now, as Tracy has so kindly sent me a new adaptor - Thank you! Be good, love, dipak More thumbnails ...
Where I stayed:
Central Lodge, Iringa
