- I did do a few things that were outside the routine. I went on line and bought a ticket from Delhi to Kathmandu. I should have done this at least a week ago but I got lazy.I still found a ticket for a decent price - 100 Euros. This was 25 Euros more than when I searched for the same flight a few days ago. I fly to Nepal a day after I arrive in Delhi. I need to get to Nepal as soon as possible as the weather is getting colder there. The other thing we did was get off our lazy asses and walk through Tarabin. We only saw one other foreigner in the dozen camps we passed by. The area is perfectly dead.
- I did step into a souvenir shop - a rarity for me. I even bought a few things. I think it was to fight the monotony. I bought a white Arab-looking shirt, a beach necklace and a beach bracelet. I hardly bargained. I felt generous. Mary is a much better bargainer than I am.
- In the early evening, Mary and I walked into Nuweiba City. There wasn't much there except Russian tourists on packaged holidays and more souvenir shops. We ended up going to a small supermarket and bought some food for our flights tomorrow. Mary is going back home to Ireland while I am going to Frankfurt.
- Tomorrow will be my last day in the Middle East. It has been quite the journey. I feel like I have been here much longer than I have. I enjoyed it though even though it was a bit tiring at times. Dealing with the touts and having religion shouting in your face all day could be tough sometimes.
- I have seen almost everything that I wanted to see. Although I could see myself visiting Iran (and maybe even Egypt) again. I hated Egypt at times but I learned to really liking it.
- I remember when I left Africa it felt like I was going home. Of course I wasn't and it was a bit difficult to swallow that I still had 9 more months of traveling left. This time I do not feel like I am going home. I think it has to do with me spending some time just relaxing for the last few days in Tarabin. I feel a lot more energized. A few weeks ago I felt pretty burnt out. But now I am ready for more. I am looking forward to India and Nepal. I think a change of scenery will help me even more.
