Allison, Chris and myself grabbed a 10 am mini bus back to Stone Town. I would take a ferry to the mainland while they would spend a night in Stone Town. While on the mini bus, I met a nice girl from Wales who told me all about her trek up Kili. I was glad I met her as she made me feel excited about my upcoming trek. I wasn't feeling any excitement about the climb at all at that point. I don't know why.
After saying good bye to Allison and Chris, I made my way to the port where the ferry left from. I ran into a young Spanish-Swedish couple (Anders and Celia) I met in Kendwa a few days earlier. They were on their honeymoon. Because it was still a few hours before the ferry left, we went to a nearby shop and had a drink. We talked about the Full Moon Party that occurred 2 nights prior. We then checked in at the port. At the waiting area, I ran into Beth and Katie again - the two English girls I met in Jinja and later ran into in Kendwa. I sat with them for the whole ferry ride back to Dar Es Salaam. We yapped a lot about the Full Moon Party as well but at a certain point we hit some pretty choppy waves and started feeling a bit nautious. So we just stopped talking and started focusing on not throwing up. By the end of the ride, the whole ferry smeled like puke. Although we didn't get sick, a lot of people did. It wasn't pleasant.
When we got to the mainland, all 5 of us walked to the Holiday Hotel. Beth and Katie were already staying there while I recommended it to Anders and Celia. I actually felt bad for them as it was their last night on their honeymoon and the only room they could find was one with 2 single beds. What can you do? They still took it.
I spent the afternoon updating my blog. I ran into Simona and Jonathon - the couple I shared my Elephant Chasing experience with. It was nice to see them again.
For supper, I met up with Anders and Celia. We had a nice dinner and then I called it a night.
Tomorrow I am off to Moshi where I will try to organize a safari as well as my climb up Africa's highest point - the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
