Today is Day 42 of my trip. Time is starting to go by pretty quickly here in Africa.
I got up at 530 today but missed the sun rise by 15 minutes. I will try to get up a bit earlier tomorrow. Seeing the sun rise isn?t something I do back home but it?s one of the things I enjoy doing here.
Erica (my Belgian neighbor) and I made plans yesterday to go for a small hike to a nearby beach. It turned out that the beach wasn?t so nearby. We walked up and down hills for 90 minutes only to be told by a local that we were only half way there. We aborted our plans and returned to a nice beach we passed earlier. No one was around. It is times like these that I say to myself that I will do another trip like this (just much shorter) with my future wife. I come across so many beautiful and secluded places that it?s too bad I am sharing these experiences by myself or with strangers. What's that saying? Happiness is best when shared. Makes total sense.
Anyhow, not much to report today except for the fact that I got way too much sun causing me to get a headache. I need to drink more water during the day and spend more time in the shade.
So much for my day of observing my surroundings. Totally didn?t happen.
Tomorrow I am off to Chizimulu Island.
