I felt like crap all day today. I have a terrible cold that I no doubt got from the bus ride from Kahama to DES. It doesn?t help having the wind blow in your face for 14 hours.  I may even have bronchitis as I can hear myself weezing while I am breathing.

It was another early start today. I woke up at 4:30 am so I could catch an early bus to the Malawi border. I wasn?t sure what time the buses left for the border. I really didn?t have anytime to do research the previous night as I got into DES pretty late. I figured I just get myself to the bus station by 5:30 am and hopefully find a bus with room available.

I was lucky as there was a 'luxury' bus going to the border at 7 am and there was a lot of seats available. It was quite different from any other bus ride I have taken in Africa. They served us free drinks and snacks. They even played a few Tanzanian movies. I guess it explained the expensive bus fare.

This was another day where I didn?t care to talk with anyone on my bus. I just felt too sick and also a little annoyed with all the time I was spending on buses. It was unavoidable though.

I didn?t make it to the border though. I got as far as a town called Mbeya which was a few hours from the border. It was already dark by the time I got to Mbeya so I decided to just crash there for the night. I didn?t know much about the town as I didn?t plan on staying there and didn?t do any reading on it. I met 2 young English girls on my bus who were also planning on staying in the town for the night. We jumped in a taxi and found a hotel for the night.

Adios!
