Jason and I flew into Dublin arriving at 5am in the morning. We transfered to our hotel, The Grand Canal to meet up with our tour group for the CIE Pub & Folk Tour. Exhausted, we had to wait around until our room was available at 9am. The hotel staff was nice enough to get us a pot of tea and we sat watching the Irish news on a couch in the lobby. After getting a few hours much needed sleep, we quickly grabbed some lunch at a local pub. White bread ham sandwiches with shredded cheese...not exactly gormet, but the atmosphere was very cool. Once back to the hotel, we boarded the tour bus with our groupand went straight to the Jameson Distillery for a whiskey tasting and tour. Exactly how you want your introduction to Ireland to be! The Distillery was really interesting and we got to sample some of the product...cut with Sprite for those of us with weak stomachs, straight up for the more adventurous of us. After leaving the Distillery we toured central Dublin and saw the famous Georgian doors. We were given free time after the tour, so Jason and I decided to head into downtown to check out the Temple Bar area. We had dinner at The Shack, right across from The Temple Bar. It was cozy and cute and delicious. We then wandered over to the Bar after dinner and fought the intense post-St. Patty's day crowd for exceptional over-priced pints of Guinness. The Temple Bar

We met two sisters from Darby, England who were visiting their friend and we spent the night talking with them as they quickly and energetically became our best friends. It was definitely an experience!
