Today we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom
. We got the shuttle again and went to the Disney Transport Center. Walt Disney World is the largest theme park resort in the world, it has 4 parks (Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios) From the transport center we can catch a free bus, monorail or ferry to all of the theme parks. It is very well organised and a bus or monorail comes along every 5 to 10 minutes. Today the weather was a lot better, maybe 18 degrees and that brought a lot of people to the park, it was packed by 10 am. We thought Disneyland was supposed to be the happiest place on Earth, so we wondered why there was there so many kids chucking tantrums!! We went on the Kilimanjaro Safari first before it got too busy. It was really good, we went in a safari vehicle through 110 acres of recreated African style savanna where the animals roamed around. We saw more shows and 3 D Movies.
We got the shuttle back to our hotel and on the way we saw some armadillos on the side of the road, I thought they were cute! We went out for dinner near the hotel at a pizza place, all we could eat and drink for $12 for both of us! We are planning on going to the other theme parks before we go to Nashville on Thursday, bye for now Dianne and Alan.
Our hotel has a free shuttle to the theme parks at 8 am everyday, so on the first day here (Saturday) we went to Universal Studios, which is about a 20 minute drive from our hotel. We thought Florida was supposed to be warm but Yesterday was freezing. It only reached a top of 9 degrees. The only good thing about it being cold was it kept a lot of people away from the park. We went to the shows, and 3D movies, shrek and it's a bugs life. Universal is celebrating Mardi Gras and every Saturday in February to April they are having live concerts. Last week they had Blondie. When we were there they had Dierks Bentley. We didn't know who that was and asked someone and he told us that he is a country music singer. People were lined up 3 hours before he came on...we didn't stay for it because by that time we were nearly freezing to death!!
