We had a really scenic drive with lots of red hills and snow. The weather is fine but snow is forecast for places tomorrow. There isn't many people travelling on the road. The day was cloudy but we didn't need a jacket until we got to our hotel here in Kayenta which is just over the state border in Arizona, about 20 miles from the Monument Valley
It cost us $5 each to get into the Monument Valley and we drove along an extremely bumpy and in places wet and slippery 17 mile dirt track and we got great views of the rock formations called buttes and mesas
Our Hotel in Kayenta is really good and has an Indian theme. The town is really small and other than hotels and service stations there isn't much else here. We went next door to our hotel and had burger king for dinner, there weren't many other choices. We have been able to use the free wi-fi at the hotels and its handy to book a hotel ahead and keep in touch.
Bye for now Dianne and Alan
